Concordia’s Approach to Coaching

We believe that all people are capable of improvement and can learn how to develop others. If you want to support the personal development of people within the organization, coaching is one possibility. It is in this sense coaching is an aim- and result-oriented personal development tool.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a “form of art” rooted in science where experts use forward-looking questions, active presence, attentive listening and reflection to proceed step by step, unfold the values of the client and activate them in support of the set aim.

What is the purpose of the Coaching process?

Its purpose is to enable our partners to manage and eliminate factors which are detrimental to their performance, to identify the impediments blocking their effectiveness, and to see and realize new opportunities. The purpose also aims to bring about a change in how executives perceive their environment. During the coaching process both their way of thinking and behavior change, and these ensure their opportunity for long-term personal development.

Concordia's coaching profile

We mostly - although not exclusively - offer coaching  as part of a complex organizational development process; we simultaneously work with the organization and the individual as part of the organization. The synchronous development of the system and its parts  provides opportunities for creating synergy: the individual and the orgaization change in harmony, the goals and change processes of the different organizational levels support and strengthen each other.

Concordia, working in the OD and management development field since 1984, can subsequently offer the following guarantees on the success of coaching:

1. For almost one quarter of a century we have carried out successful organization development projects in several highly different organizations. Our accumulated experience and system approach enables us to integrate coaching organically into comprehensive development tasks which encompass the entire organization, as well as to match it to HR systems.

2. The majority of our partners during our projects have been top executives which has given us significant experience about leadership and management.

3. Our coaches have both personal as well as professional and leadership experience (resulting from working in consultancy), plus they also have various backgrounds, which combine to guarantee the success of coaching. Concordia invests heavily into enabling its consultants to enrich each other’s experiences in a workshop structure.

4. Our colleagues were – and continue to be – trained by leading American coaching experts.

5. Over the years Concordia has developed its own coaching principles and methods. Its consultants successfully administered several personal coaching programs at leading Hungarian and international corporations.
