Concordia’s Approach to Coaching

We believe that all people are capable of improvement and can learn how to develop others. If you want to support the personal development of people within the organization, coaching is one possibility. It is in this sense coaching is an aim- and result-oriented personal development tool.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a “form of art” rooted in science where experts use forward-looking questions, active presence, attentive listening and reflection to proceed step by step, unfold the values of the client and activate them in support of the set aim.

We mostly - although not exclusively - offer coaching  as part of a complex organizational development process; we simultaneously work with the organization and the individual as part of the organization. The synchronous development of the system and its parts  provides opportunities for creating synergy: the individual and the orgaization change in harmony, the goals and change processes of the different organizational levels support and strengthen each other.

Team Coaching

What is Team Coaching?

  • On an individual level: helping executives / professionals in a small group to develop, unfold and become more productive;
  • On a team level: strengthening the cooperative, problem-solving and learning capabilities of the entire team.

During team coaching we focus on problems that cause the greatest grief for the team. These sessions always concentrate on problems taken from the everyday work of team members, and on enhancing the functioning of the team.

Team coaching does not have to be a stand-alone development program. It may also be used to assist the follow-up of trainings: it can ensure that methods learnt during the training are not forgotten, and that problems which arise in the course of introducing and applying such methods are successfully resolved. Thereby team coaching can contribute to internalizing the operational ways learnt during the training and to make changes lasting and real.
